John has been accompanying the Lake View Choir and playing for worship services since 1998. Originally from California, he received a degree in jazz studies from San Diego State University before relocating to Chicago. He can be heard at various music venues throughout the city and also keeps busy teaching piano at the Old Town School of Folk Music and beyond. John has recorded three CDs under his own name, the most recent, “A Feeling of Christmas “, is a collection of hymns and carols arranged for jazz piano, bass, and percussion.
