In
December of 2002, the Session of Lake View joined with other PCUSA
congregations around the country to declare itself a More Light  Congregation,
More Light Presbyterians are a national network of churches and
individuals working for full participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgender people of faith in the Presbyterian Church (USA).
This designation merely formalizes Lake View’s long tradition
of inclusivity and welcome to all people.
The Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus meets in our space for rehearsal
each week. Our building
also hosts Cafe Pride, a drop-in center for gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgender youth. We
warmly welcome all to our community and celebrate the essence of our tag
line and the sentiment of our church family:
